My connection to metal began in childhood, learning practical metalworking skills alongside my father in his garage in Germany. As a teenager, I was already designing and welding furniture and lighting from recycled materials, discovering an early fascination with transforming raw metal into functional and beautiful objects.

After moving to New Zealand in 2001, I continued to explore this passion through sculptural wire works created from recycled aluminium cables. Over the years, my creative journey expanded into owning a design and art store and later working in interior design, experiences that deepened my understanding of form, balance, texture, and the relationship between objects and the spaces they inhabit.

Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. Whether tramping through native forests, snorkelling along rugged coastlines, or simply observing the intricate details of seeds, bark, shells, and leaves, I am constantly drawn to the quiet beauty and extraordinary patterns found in the natural world. These observations form the foundation of my jewellery collections.

Today, I create organic contemporary jewellery that celebrates texture, movement, and natural form. Working primarily in silver and bronze, I use traditional techniques including Mitsuro Hikime and Lost Wax Casting, allowing each piece to develop organically through touch, process, and experimentation. Many of my designs begin with found natural objects, preserving their unique character while transforming them into wearable art.

Creating jewellery that resonates with people is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. I design pieces that feel special without being precious—timeless, versatile, and intended to be worn and loved every day. Elegant enough for the opera, yet equally at home in the stable, my jewellery reflects the belief that beauty and craftsmanship belong in every part of life.
