I’ve been drawn to metalwork since childhood, first learning hands-on alongside my father in his garage. As a teenager, I began welding furniture and lighting pieces from recycled materials, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for working with metal.
After moving from Germany to New Zealand in 2001, I continued to evolve my practice, creating sculptural wire pieces from recycled aluminium cables. My creative path led me to open a design and art store and later to work in interior design, experiences that further refined my sensitivity to form, space, and material.
I’m deeply inspired by the natural world and find joy in tramping through forests, snorkelling and diving in the sea, and observing the intricate details, textures, and quiet beauty around me. This sense of wonder flows directly into my work. Today, I focus on organic jewellery that celebrates texture, movement, and intuitive form, often using techniques such as Mitsuro Hikime and Lost Wax Casting. I love experimenting with new combinations and allowing each piece to evolve through process and touch.
I find deep satisfaction in seeing people connect with my jewellery—creating pieces that make someone feel special while remaining timeless and versatile. My work is designed to be worn anywhere: elegant enough for the opera, yet grounded enough for the stable. I believe glamour belongs just as much in the field as it does on a formal stage.
My studio is my happy place—a space of focus, experimentation, and making.
I hope you find joy in your piece!
